Large Classes pose an administrative challenge in terms of difficulties with group manipulation, marking and keeping accurate statistics. A number of technologies show promise of reducing these costs, including Peer Assessment in Blackboard and Turnitin.

Training on peer assessment, building block development, peer-sourced support and assistance and vendor lobbying are expected to alleviate many of the challenges associated with large classes.

ITS is developing a version of the WebPAF peer assessment tool to allow students to rate relative contributions to group work. It should be available for a pilot in Semester 2 - 2015.
