A banner is a graphic displaying a symbol, logo or message that identifies the site. Students often have a number of courses in their 'My Courses' list. Displaying a banner on the first page of your site will confirm to students that they clicked the right link in their list of courses. A banner can be displayed on the Announcements page of your Blackboard site. Banners can be created in a paint or drawing program (eg. Paintshop Pro, Photoshop) and should be saved as GIF or JPEG files. The recommended dimensions for a banner in Blackboard is 590x80 pixels.
